I’m a Manchester based music producer, designer, radio host and occasional photographer. You’ll normally catch me lost in a headphone mix on the morning commute or scribbling web design ideas in my notebook. Basically i’m just a guy with a laptop and a bunch of ideas...
Mecca:83 aka Rise aka 1/3 of Redefinition aka 1/4 of Alexis Davis....
Jazz and Soul are the foundation. For the past decade i’ve buried myself in stacks of old records and vintage synths, carving out a niche for my sounds to live in. I’ve recorded under numerous aliases during this time - from creating sample based Jazz music as Rise, to interspersing live instrumentation with Hip Hop beats as Mecca:83 and as part of the group Redefinition.
To date i’ve released 3 full length albums as well as numerous EPs and singles in Vinyl, CD and Digital Formats. You can find my music on labels such as Futuristica Music, RecordBreakin, Expansions and MyFirstMoth to name a few.
